Updates
Facelift
This was a pretty big update, at least for the look of the site. I practiced on my other
site: www.sydneyfriends.tv by making a changeable main picture at the top of the site.
I also tried to make the colour scheme a bit more relaxing/palletable/natural,
it still needs works. I also may be slightly changing the design of the front
page a little... or a lot? members page.. still on the drawing board.
1/5/09.. put an example on the 'how to order' page.
General update
The mission and "for your information" sections were moved to the "about us" page (today and on the 17th) and the quick links was moved to the top of the content section of the homepage to further seperate, site introduction, functionality and other "about us" kind of information, hopefully the most useful information will soon be all found on the front page. (Colour co-ordination and new menu's will be coming soon).
How to Order page & General update
Today I made a "quick links" box to the front page and added a new "How to order" page, this will hopefully simplify the ordering process for customers. I also took off most of the how to order information from the Japanese shops page and renamed it "Popular Japanese Shops" where I will put the most popular stores that customers order from (Also this Update section was made into its own page in the past few days).
Testimonials
I collected a few comments from customers and made a testimonials page, customers can leave testimonials via this page too.(From now on I won't bother adding this to the update section I will just add testimonials when they come in).
Cost Calculator
To make it easier for customers to calculate costs I brushed up my javascript skills and made a cost calculator :)
General updates
Order form now requests amount in Japanese yen rather than AU$/US$. New stores were
added to the Japanese stores page, and the ordering process simplified.
The product ranking site Ranking Ranqueen, was added to the main page.
New Sites
Most recent customers have been purchasing from online sites, so I made a list of recently used sites above.
Added Video and Carousel
Hand picked some products from Amazon for the carousel on the
homepage, and put a "Funny Japanese Video" near the bottom.
New Products
Added products from our affiliate partners to the homepage.
** I like the paper cutting art of Mt Fuji **.
Rinkai is now Officially Opened!
All main pages completed (in working order), Rinkai is open for business!
Rinkai's online store opened - powered by Amazon
To complement our shopping service, we have made a page where customers can buy Japanese products directly, with an online checkout system.
Sites name settled
After a few trials, we have settled for the name Rinkai - Japan Shopping Service. The title is a combination of a few things, but mainly it has Rin and Ai, which are parts of the owners names.
Site first opened on the 7th November 2008
The site under a different name made it's first appearance on this date, with the goal of being one of Japans top shopping services, for the remainder of 2008, the site aims at building it's online shops, and to start it's shopping service from three of Japans largest stores. The site also allows those who use the service to buy from other shops with a possible extra change for transport/finding costs.
